What we collect

Nothing personally identifying. This site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter, no forms, and no email capture. Visit anonymously.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see, in aggregate, which pages are read and which links are clicked. Microsoft Clarity does not load at all when your device is set to a time zone in the EU, the UK or Switzerland; elsewhere it can set cookies in your browser. Inside the EU, the UK, Switzerland and California, Google Analytics starts with its cookies switched off. We never ask for your name, email or other personal details.

Advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Ask Amili

Questions typed into the Ask Amili box are stored anonymously (the question text only, no IP address or cookie) to improve our answers. Answers come only from pages on this site.

Affiliate links

Equipment and ingredient links on this site are affiliate links (Amazon Associates). We set no cookie ourselves; the retailer sets its own cookie afteryou click through, which is how a purchase is credited to us. We receive only anonymous, aggregated commission reports — never your identity, your cart, or what you ordered. Not clicking an affiliate link sets no retailer cookie at all. Flour pages also show one small Amazon product ad at the top, marked Sponsored. Its photo loads from Amazon's image server (m.media-amazon.com) and its price comes from Amazon's product API through our own server, refreshed at most hourly. It sets no cookies of ours.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to count returning visitors; Microsoft Clarity can set its own cookies where it loads (see Analytics above). Google AdSense sets advertising cookies. Inside the EU, the UK, Switzerland and California, analytics and advertising cookies start switched off. You can block all of these in your browser settings without affecting site function.

SourdoughHydration is operated by Paulo de Vries (Netherlands). Inquiries: contact@editnative.com. We process personal data only for the purposes listed on this page, and never sell, rent, or share user data with third parties outside the stated analytics and advertising providers.

Your rights under GDPR

As a site operated from the EU, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679). EU and UK visitors have the following rights regarding personal data we process:

  • Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data.
  • Restriction — request we pause processing while a dispute is resolved.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest (including AdSense personalization).
  • Data portability — request a machine-readable export.
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl) or your local supervisory authority.

Lawful basis

Processing lawful bases: (a) legitimate interest for aggregate analytics (understanding site use without identifying individuals); (b) consent for personalized advertising via Google AdSense — you can withdraw consent at myadcenter.google.com; (c) legitimate interest for replying to inquiries you send us by email.

Retention

Analytics data: aggregated, retained as long as it provides product value (no individual records). Contact-email exchanges: retained 30 days after the conversation closes, then deleted. AdSense data: per Google's retention policy (linked above).
